An early morning start today, visiting:

  • Walk through Tiananmen Square
  • Visit the Forbidden City. a remarkable compound of buildings, previously exclusively accessed only by the selected family of the Emperor and selected ministers
  • Enjoy a rickshaw ride through one of Beijing’s old and still intact Hutong’s (old suburbs), ending with a delicious lunch at another of the specially selected Halal restaurants
  • We then visit Quienmen Street, a bustling suburb with still traditional Chinese architecture and a great spot to scratch the shopping itch that has likely been building up.
  • Free time for the rest of the day

Today you will visit:

  • The Great Wall of China – take chair lift to the top where you have some time to walk along the Great Wall and capture some remarkable photos of the undulating landscape. When ready to come down, you have the choice of taking the chair lift back down, or for the more adventurous, you can descend via the long and winding taboggan sled ride down.
  • Visit the vast and beautiful Summer Palace, the private palace of the Empress during the summer months in China
  • The day ends with a visit to Nuiji Mosque, and 1100 year of Mosque in the mainly Muslim suburb of Nuiji. Here you have a vast array of choice for local Halal Chinese food.


After Breakfast and Check out, transfer to the train station for a high speed train ride to Xi’an.
Arrive to Xi’an in the early afternoon.

  • Your driver and guide will meet you at the train station and take you directly to the Great Mosque of Xi’an. At over 1300 years old, this mosque was built during the Tang Dynasty on land granted to the Muslims by the Emperor, and is one of the oldest mosques in China.
  • Finish the day with a walking food tour through the famous “Muslim Street” (actually a suburb of dozens of streets) filled with Halal food options.
  • Today you visit the world famous Terracotta Warriors, touring the many large archaeological sites still with work in progress.
  • Enjoy some local hand pulled noodles at one of the Halal establishments run by a Muslim family for generations.
  • Finish the day with a marvellous Tang Dynasty Show – A history of the Tang Dynasty depicted through music and dance (wearing traditional modest Tang Dynasty costumes)
  • Head back to the hotel located next the Muslim street food area, a perfect location for another delicious Halal dinner of your choice.

In the morning visit the ancient City Walls, the most intact city walls in all of China. Spend time exploring, walking or even cycling along the city walls, where you can see old and modern Xi’an on each side of the wall.

Transfer to airport in the afternoon for flight to Guiling.

Take a leisurely Li River cruise

  • A wonderful 3.5-hour cruise enjoying the stunning landscape along the river and mountains.
  • Disembark at around 1-1.30pm at Yangshuo, the beautiful small town famous for its Karst landscape.
  • Lunch at the local Muslim restaurant.
  • Drive through the countryside and see the rural area, we may have a chance to visit a local farmer’s home.
  • Transfer back to Guilin city.

Leisurely morning in Guilin

  • Visit the Elephant Hill
  • Stroll by the downtown lake to see the slow-paced lifestyle of locals
  • Lunch at Muslim restaurant
  • Drive to the airport and fly to Shanghai. Transfer to the hotel.

Arrive Shanghai

  • Orientation to local area, including Nanjing Road walking street and The Bund – the iconic Hangpau riverside walk and skyline.

Early morning drive to traditional best preserved water village

  • Tongli is a well preserved Water Town, build along meandering rivers. Here you will explore a variety of ancient style homes, escorted through the town via rickshaw and perhaps enjoy a gondola ride along the river.
  • After the guided tour of the area, enjoy some free time in this beautiful little town and enjoy another delicious Halal meal (Yes there are local Halal places to eat here too!)
  • After driving back to Shanghai, a brief stop at Tianzifang, a local artsy area with local arts and crafts shops run by local artisans.
  • We will have a farewell dinner at one of the local Halal Chinese restaurants.

Most flights depart in the afternoon/evening, so depending on your flight time:

  • Free time for last minute shopping and eating in and around Nanjing Road and hotel until time to transfer to the airport for departure.

For those wanting to stay an additional night for more time to explore Shanghai (if your departure flight is too early in the day), this can be arranged for and additional cost with private airport transfer.

• As of Dec 2023, you are required to attend a Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in person to apply for a visa or alternatively, use a registered agent to apply on your behalf. Chinese Visa Application Service Centres can be found in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane.

• You must attend the China Visa Application Service Centre relevant to the state you reside in. Please visit the relevant site below based on your State of residence. You are encouraged to apply at least 4 weeks before the planned departure date.

Chinese Visa Fess Here – If you live in Melbourne or Sydney and are unable to submit the visa application on your own, we can apply on your behalf. The cost to apply on your behalf is $100 per passport on top of the Visa Application fee.
