Arrive in Beijing

An early morning start today, visiting:

  • Walk through Tiananmen Square
  • Visit the Forbidden City. a remarkable compound of buildings, previously exclusively accessed only by the selected family of the Emperor and selected ministers
  • Enjoy a rickshaw ride through one of Beijing’s old and still intact Hutong’s (old suburbs), ending with a delicious lunch at another of the specially selected Halal restaurants
  • We then visit Quienmen Street, a bustling suburb with still traditional Chinese architecture and a great spot to scratch the shopping itch that has likely been building up.
  • Visit Niujie Mosque, the oldest mosque in Beijing, first built in 966.
  • Free time for the rest of the day

Today you will visit:

  • The Great Wall of China – take chair lift to the top where you have some time to walk along the Great Wall and capture some remarkable photos of the undulating landscape. When ready to come down, you have the choice of taking the chair lift back down, or for the more adventurous, you can descend via the long and winding taboggan sled ride down.
  • Visit the vast and beautiful Summer Palace, the private palace of the Empress during the summer months in China

After Breakfast and Check out, transfer to the train station for a high speed train ride to Xi’an.
Arrive to Xi’an in the early afternoon.

  • Your driver and guide will meet you at the train station and take you directly to the Great Mosque of Xi’an. At over 1300 years old, this mosque was built during the Tang Dynasty on land granted to the Muslims by the Emperor, and is one of the oldest mosques in China.
  • Finish the day with a walking food tour through the famous “Muslim Street” (actually a suburb of dozens of streets) filled with Halal food options.
  • Today you visit the world famous Terracotta Warriors, touring the many large archaeological sites still with work in progress.
  • Enjoy some local hand pulled noodles at one of the Halal establishments run by a Muslim family for generations.
  • Return to Xian for some free time and rest before the evening program
  • Finish the day with a marvellous Tang Dynasty Show – A history of the Tang Dynasty depicted through music and dance (wearing traditional modest Tang Dynasty costumes)
  • After the show, head back to the hotel located next the Muslim street food area, a perfect location for another delicious Halal dinner of your choice.
  • After breakfast explore the Xian city walls
    • After breakfast, explore the ancient Xi’an City Walls, the most intact city walls in all of China. Spend time exploring, walking or even cycling along the city walls, where you can see old and modern Xi’an on each side of the wall.

    We then transfer to the airport for afternoon flight to Shanghai

    • Transfer to hotel enjoy evening dinner at one of the many Halal restaurants around the hotel

Full Day Shanghai touring

  • Visit, the Yu Gardens. A traditional Chinese gardens at what was once the location of the local governor of Shanghai (make sure your camera’s are fully charged as there are some great photo opportunities here)
  • Xiaotaoyuan Mosque
  • You will then visit the iconic river skyline are known as The Bund. Also enjoy an Hangpau river cruise, along the Hungpau river of course.
  • Dinner at one of the local halal eateries.
  • Shanghai is a very cosmopolitan city, so besides the local Chinese or Uyghur food that we all enjoy, you have plenty of “homesick” options also, such as Arab, Turkish or Pakistani food available

Early morning drive to Tongli

  • Tongli is a well preserved Water Town, build along meandering rivers. Here you will explore a variety of ancient style homes, escorted through the town via rickshaw and perhaps enjoy a gondola ride along the river.
  • After the guided tour of the area, enjoy some free time in this beautiful little town and enjoy another delicious Halal meal (Yes there are local Halal places to eat here too!)
  • Back to Shanghai, a brief stop at Tianzifang, a local artsy area with local arts and crafts shops run by local artisans.
  • We will finish off at Nanjing Road, the famous walking shopping road in Shanghai. After a brief orientation of the area, we will have a farewell dinner at one of the local Halal Chinese restaurants.

Most flights depart in the afternoon/evening, so depending on your flight time:

  • Free time for last minute shopping and eating in and around Nanjing Road and hotel until time to transfer to the airport for departure.
